Sleeps up to 6. Farewell Bend is a classic Delaware Ave craftsman with lava rock, fir floors, and the quality construction of something built with resources from a bygone era. This three bedroom, two bath, two-story home is located in one of the finest blocks of the historic district, within easy walking distance to all of downtown, Old Mill District, and Deschutes River. One of the nicest features of the house is the fully enclosed and heated sunroom at the front of the house (formerly the front porch). This space provides a bright, open, light space for reading, looking out the window (across Delaware Ave to the historic Icehouse building), dining, playing cards and games, and experiencing this very cool Westside neighborhood.
Beyond the sun room is the historic living room with a working fireplace (we provide Duralogs), a large flat screen TV, and a new sofa and lounge chairs. This space is highlighted by two windows with views toward Delaware Ave, but is a private and cozy room, ideal for watching a movie or your favorite sports. The fully equipped kitchen is off the living room and includes a dishwasher, electric range and over, full sized refrigerator, microwave, and the equipment necessary to dine in style. There is cafe seating for four in this functional space – a nice spot to perch for a cup of coffee.
Off the kitchen is the laundry room with washer and dryer, and a fully enclosed yard. There is also a workspace (desk and chair) around the corner from the kitchen.
There are two bedrooms on the main floor, each with a queen bed. Upstairs boasts a newly appointed master suite with king bed and attached bath (shower, no tub). There is a second full bath on the main floor, off the hall, with a cast iron bathtub.
Farewell is very functional for groups with different needs – some can be watching a movie or a game and others can be socializing with music in the sunroom. The neighborhood and accessibility to Jackson’s Corner (a neighborhood restaurant, store, and hangout, catering to a casual, food-savvy clientele) as well as downtown and the Old Mill District make this house uniquely easy to use.
You don’t have to plan much here – just be ready to kick and back and enjoy life in a nicely appointed historic home at the edge of some incredible wild and open spaces, surrounded by a host of great restaurants and breweries.
The Farewell Bend House has WiFi, Cable TV in two locations (living room and master), DVD players, and an I-pod compatible speaker. There is central heating and in-room A/C in the bedrooms during the summer months. All beds are made with living including fresh duvets on all the comforters. This house is pet friendly and we provide eco-friendly cleaning supplies, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, and ample towels and blankets.
